Athletes

This service is built for athletes and driven individuals seeking personalized, in-person coaching in Santa Barbara. Every client begins with a free evaluation and consultation to identify goals, training history, and specific needs. From there, Justin designs and implements a customized strength and conditioning plan, trained and refined together in his private gym setting.
Each athlete’s training focuses on long-term, sustainable performance through:
-
Speed and Strength Development: Building power, acceleration, and total-body strength with precise technique.
-
Conditioning and Resilience: Improving sport-specific endurance while reducing fatigue and injury risk.
-
Olympic Weightlifting Instruction: Learning proper mechanics and execution of Olympic lifts to develop explosive performance safely.
-
Performance Testing: Assessing maximum strength, vertical jump, and movement quality to determine starting points and guide individualized progression.
-
Periodization and Progressive Overload: Structuring training phases to ensure continuous improvement and measurable results.
Every detail is designed with purpose. Technique, consistency, and intelligent progression form the foundation of this process so each athlete can thrive in the sport and lifestyle they love.

Athlete of The Month August 2026
McKenna Stuart
McKenna brings incredible effort, consistency, and a great attitude into every training session! She really encourages her teammates and is a joy to be around. She shows up ready to work, gives her best every day, and is the kind of teammate people love having around because of how supportive and encouraging she is!
She’s had an incredible year in the pool:
• 2026 Junior Olympics MVP of the 16U Girls Championship Division.
• 2026 Futures Super Finals Top Defender in the 16U Division.
• Gold medalist at the 2026 Futures Super Finals, Club Championships, and Junior Olympics.
• 2x Junior Olympic Gold Medalist and 3x Junior Olympic Finalist in the Championship Division.
• Starter for the San Marcos Varsity Girls Water Polo team that finished second at Regionals.
• CIF Division I qualifier in the 500 Freestyle.
• CIF and State qualifier in the 4x100 and 4x50 Freestyle Relays.
And outside of the pool:
• Member of the San Marcos AAPLE and Entrepreneurship Academies.
• National Honor Society member.
• 2025 USA Water Polo Academic All-American.
• Secretary of the Keiki Paddle Board.
What stands out most about McKenna is her character and her consistent love of the process. She works hard, supports the people around her, and brings an energy that makes her teammates better. That has clearly translated to results in the pool this year and as a coach of hers, I couldn’t be more proud!
